Today is a wonderful day when we reflect upon our time spent together as a class, recognize our tremendous accomplishments, and look towards our bright futures. Three years ago, we walked into our first day of high school and since then so much has changed and so many stories were written.

As a community, we have experienced the extraordinary things that Bishop Grandin High School has offered us. We have cheered on our peers at the championship games and competed in them ourselves; we have performed and appreciated the brilliant drama productions; we have innovated and seen phenomenal machines be engineered by the robotics team; we have played and sung our hearts out; we have listened to the band and choir’s beautiful harmonies; we have worked with iron, wood and automobiles; we have danced and admired the choreography of the dance crew; we have savoured the creations of the culinary arts students; we have enjoyed the events organized by Student Council’s creative leaders and taken part in the many other amazing clubs and programs at our school; and, above all, we have learned ...

We should also remember that success is not only defined by a job or career. This is the perfect time for us to think about who we want to be: kind, resilient, hardworking, compassionate.

And regardless of how we define success, it will be our courage that will help us achieve it. The courage to ask for help when we need it. The courage to be really honest with ourselves about what we’re passionate about and what truly makes us happy. The courage to say yes to opportunities, even if they lie outside our comfort zones. The courage to get back up when we fall, because, more than anything, success is the courage to continue. Never give up. Each mistake is a lesson learned ...
