JEOPARDY! HOST SAYS HE’LL BE BACK

Jeopardy! will air its final original episode taped before the pandemic lockdown on Friday, and reruns of the answer-and-question quiz show will air indefinitely until taping resumes.

Although some fans are concerned this last new episode could be the last for host Alex Trebek, who is battling Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Trebek will reportedly return when it’s safe.

“Alex is looking forward to resuming production as soon as we are able to do so,” a show representative told TV Line.

Before Jeopardy! shut down because of the COVID -19 pandemic, Trebek told reporters he had no plans of leaving the show “in the near future.”

Last week, the state of California approved film and TV production to restart on Friday. Los Angeles County followed suit on Wednesday.
