Green Line puts people before profit

I fully support building the Green Line. We are living in an unprecedented time when anything is possible. Instead of always looking to the past, let’s instead be progressive and look to the future. Let’s think about each other, rather than letting the almighty dollar run our lives.

The Green Line is fully funded. Construction will supply 20,000 Calgarians with jobs. It will contribute to diversifying our economy, which is greatly needed. It will help to mitigate climate change which is one of our greatest and consequential challenges. The Green Line will service Calgarians living in the far reaches of the city, many of whom will continue to be marginalized if this project doesn’t go ahead.

I am tired of privileged people telling the rest of us what we need and don’t need. They want a new stadium/ arena. Hmmm … who will that benefit? It’s time to put people before profit.
