The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found in a survey of 502 adults that 39 per cent of U.S. adults have risked their well-being in trying to avoid COVID-19. Nearly 20 per cent had washed produce with bleach or have used household cleansers or disinfectants on their hands. Others have misted their body with a household cleaning spray.
