Still waiting on flood fix
Re: Alberta’s Official Opposition calls for emergency disaster relief for Calgarians hit by severe hailstorm, June 17
My heart goes out to all those who were affected by last weekend’s storm. Unfortunately, given Calgary’s location, we will always be at risk for these types of events.
We are approaching the seven-year anniversary of the 2013 flood.
Although smaller-scale projects within the city have made things safer, we are still without upstream mitigation that will truly protect the city, its citizens, and their property.
Moving forward with the Springbank reservoir and one of the three proposed solutions for the Bow is long overdue. Please, let’s get going!
