MUSIC TAKES ROOT
Musicians rehearse at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona on Monday when the venue reopened. But the 2,292 seats were occupied on this occasion by plants for an online broadcast of the Uceli Quartet string quartet’s performance of Puccini’s Crisantemi. Organizers said the intention was to reflect on the absurdity of the human condition in the COVID-19 era.
