U of C to limit student presence on campus

- Compiled by Jon Roe

In an email to students sent Tuesday, the University of Calgary is painting a clearer picture of what classes will look like in the fall.

The fall 2020 course calendar is expected to be released Friday.

The university says lectures, labs and tutorials will be delivered through a combination of face-to-face and online learning. It says it’s avoiding face-to-face components if online alternatives are available.

The university says 23 per cent of graduate courses and 14 per cent of undergrad courses will have face-to-face components.

No more than 30 per cent of students will be scheduled to be on campus on any given day. University employees are still encouraged to work from home until they are asked by a team leader to return to work.

The university is exploring staggered schedules that would see half the employees come in on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with the other half coming in Tuesdays and Thursdays.
