GRILLED BANANA SPLITS

Serves: 4

4 unpeeled bananas

4 tsp (20 ml) canola oil

1 cup (250 ml) sliced strawberri­es

Vanilla ice cream Peanut butter ganache (recipe follows)

1. Preheat natural gas barbecue on high heat for 10-15 minutes.

2. Cut each banana in half lengthwise. Do not remove peel. Brush cut side of each banana half with 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) oil.

3. Grill banana halves, cut side down, until warmed and grillmarke­d, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

4. When cool enough to handle, remove and discard peels.

5. To serve, place 2 banana halves, 1/4 cup (60 ml) strawberri­es and ice cream into each of 4 bowls. Top with the ganache.
