Marilyn saves historic French theatre

-

A handkerchief belonging to Marilyn Monroe has saved Comedie Italienne, a baroque Paris theatre, from bankruptcy after an unnamed bidder paid US$300,000 for it. The silk handkerchief, with floral embroidery and ivory lace, had inspired a play called Le Mouchoir de Marilyn (Marilyn’s Handkerchief) in which the star has a child with John F. Kennedy. Though the debts and mortgage were paid, the theatre remains for sale.
