A referendum with real meaning

Given the current Alberta government’s obsession with wanting to undertake taxpayer-funded referendums on various quixotic issues, I propose that, should Edmonton not be selected as one of the two hub cities for the upcoming Stanley Cup playoffs, that Alberta conduct a referendum on the question of Calgary and Edmonton withdrawing from the National Hockey League.

Alas, a referendum of real meaning.
