SPACE FOR YOU IN RAVENSWOOD

Community in Airdrie expanding

- CINDY STEPHEN

New show homes are now open in the last phase of Ravenswood, a family-oriented neighbourhood in Airdrie by Qualico Communities.

The front-drive single family and duplex models from Broadview Homes, Nuvista Homes, Mckee Homes, Pacesetter by Sterling Homes and Emerald Homes are located in Phase 9, located in the southeastern corner of the community located south of Yankee Valley Blvd., east of the King ’s Heights neighbourhood.

Ravenswood was founded in 2007 and is one of the few residential areas on the east side of Highway 2 where new homes are being built.

The final release of lots is one of the last opportunities for new home buyers to build on the extra wide lots offered in the community.

“There are generously sized lots, from 38 feet to 48 feet wide. There’s lots of room for people to build a new home and store all their extra stuff, like trailers,” says Daisy Lieu, Qualico marketing specialist.

Prices start in the $320,000s for duplexes, the $340,000s for laned homes and the $430,000s for front-drive homes. There are approximately 50 lots left in the last phase. Each builder also has a selection of quick possession product throughout the community. At final build out, there will be 3,000 people living in Ravenswood. The population of Airdrie itself is just above 70,000.

Lieu says residents love the green corridors, the playgrounds and quiet streets in Ravenswood.

“People are out and about, visiting with neighbours. It’s great for families because schools are so close, yet there’s big city amenities around the corner. It’s also easier to get in and out of Ravenswood for the commute from that side of the city,” she explains.

With the community is a French immersion preschool and the K-12 Aidrie Francophone School. Heloise Lorimer School, a K-5 public school, is next door in King’s Heights. Genesis Place recreation centre is nearby and Lieu says that from Ravenswood, there’s a sneak route south to Cross Iron Mills Shopping Centre accessible via Yankee Valley Blvd.

Broadview, Nuvista and Pacesetter show homes are open Monday to Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Mckee and Emerald model homes are open Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. All show homes are open weekends noon to 5 p.m.
