RENOUF, Jay Stanley David
July 29, 1960 - August 6, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing, in hospital, of Jay Renouf of Calgary, at the young age of 60. Loving husband of Susan Renouf (nee Watson) for 26 years. Proud and loving father of Sarah (Matthew Rose) and Geoffrey; and his devoted dog Buddy. Much loved son of Gloria Renouf; and predeceased by his father Geoffrey Renouf in 2019, and his Godmother Joan Willan in 2016, and other aunts, uncles and cousins. Jay will be fondly remembered by his sister Laura (Gerald Wendland and family) and Rob (Joyce Renouf and family). Also survived by his mother-in-law Patricia Watson, and the late Geoffrey Kaye Watson of Merrickville, Ontario, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in Eastern Ontario, aunts, uncles and cousins in Western Canada, work colleagues, many friends too numerous to mention, and especially his great friend Ross Dugan (Nancy and family). Jay joined Western Electrical in 1980, and in 1991 moved on to Merick Contractors Inc. Through Jay’s hard work, dedication and experience he became the well respected President of Merick Contractors Inc. in 2016. He forged many strong and lasting relationships with his friends, colleagues and all of those whose lives he touched. Jay lived life to the fullest, enjoying times with family and friends, vacationing in Shuswap, skiing in Panorama and Lake Louise, and he loved his vacation time in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was always putting others first and will always be remembered for his big heart. Special thanks to the First Responders and to the Peter Lougheed Centre Intensive Care Unit Staff who were very supportive to Jay and family during this very difficult time. Jay will be cremated and a Celebration of his Life will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peter Lougheed Centre Intensive Care Unit, Foothills Burn Unit or the Heart & Stroke Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
