-

Yukon has reported its first death from COVID-19 after an outbreak in the small community of Watson Lake. The victim was “older” and had underlying health conditions, chief medical health officer Dr. Brendan Hanley said Friday. The person died at home on Thursday after showing signs of recovery about two weeks after being infected. “It's a very sad day. I feel for the community as well as for the family,” he said. “It is something of a shock.” The victim lived in Watson Lake, where an outbreak of the virus infected five people.
