Why can't CFL figure it out?
The CFL schedule has its first game in Alberta as early as May 23 with the BC Lions playing the Stampeders. Here we are a month before and the CFL commissioner has not confirmed the season is even happening. Before this game can occur, three reasonable things must happen. First, the players have to report to training camp. Second, the American players have to cross the border and go through quarantine. Third, all CFL players who did not play professional football in 2020 have to give termination notice to their interim employers.
Despite having an entire year to plan a “Return-toplay Critical Path,” it seems the CFL has let the clock run out on another season with no guidance as to what players should do regarding their employment or an announcement on a bubble strategy for the beginning of the season.
Considering the NHL, MLB, NBA and NFL all had operating seasons in 2020 and 2021, both fans and players are wondering why hasn't the CFL commissioner been fired?
