JUNOS ARE ON THE MOVE ... AGAIN
The organizers of the Juno Awards have postponed this year's 50th anniversary celebration “out of an abundance of caution in response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic,” according to a release. Originally set for March, before being moved to May 16, the virtual ceremony will now take place June 6.
The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) is working with CBC and Insight Productions to put on the event, which will broadcast on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and at Cbcmusic.ca/junos.
The Weeknd, shown, leads the nominations with six, followed by Justin Bieber, Jessie Reyez and JP Saxe, who are tied with five nominations each.
More information on performers, presenters and related virtual events will be announced in the coming weeks.
