Calgary police investigators are looking for more information about three fires on April 2 they believe were intentionally set.

Police say Calgary fire crews attended a fire at a home at 6:45 a.m. on that Friday that destroyed a detached garage and damaged an adjacent garage. The home, in the 3800 block of 1st Street N.W., was slated for demolition.

Less than two hours later, police say items in the back of a white 2007 Ford F150 were set on fire. The truck was parked in the 100 block of 43rd Avenue N.W.

A few minutes later, CCTV footage showed a man walking west in an alley near the truck and then lighting a fire in a “small wood enclosure” in the 100 block of 44th Avenue N.W., about a block north of where the truck was parked.

The man in the CCTV footage is described as 50 to 60 years old with a grey beard and an average build.

Police say he was wearing a black-and-red baseball cap, light blue jeans and a black jacket with a grey hooded sweater. He was carrying a maroon-and-white backpack and a plastic bag.

Police are asking anyone with information to call the non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously through 1-800-222-8477 or calgarycrimestoppers.org.
