High River's Jim Hargreaves must have incredible aim.

A member at Highwood, Hargreaves drained another holein-one over the weekend, upping his career count to 12. That's right, a dozen aces!

Hargreaves started to get serious about the sport in his late-30s, notched his first hole-in-one soon after at Lacombe, and has been flag-hunting ever since. Now 71 and with a 4.6 handicap, he potted his latest on No. 6 on Highwood's Heritage layout, smoothing a 7-iron from 155 yards away. It must be noted that Jim's wife, Brenda, is also a sharpshooter, with five aces on her own resume. Hey Mr. and Mrs. Hargreaves, any tips for the rest of us?

Troy Prusky was the toast of the clubhouse — and presumably stuck with a hefty tab — after a hole-inone during men's league action at Lakeside in Chestermere. Prusky made short work of the second on the scorecard thanks to a wicked wedge from 125 yards back. This day could have been a real humdinger for Prusky, since his playing partners reported that he barely missed out on another on No. 6, leaving his tee ball hanging on the left edge of the cup.

Bev Garlock also scored an ace on the second assignment at Lakeside, finishing her business with a nifty 9-iron from 83 yards away.

If you follow the provincial golf scene, you'll likely remember Kris Wasylowich, who won both the Alberta Amateur and Alberta Open and competed for several years on what is now known as the Mackenzie TOUR-PGA Tour Canada. The talented lad from Lethbridge made the third hole at Mickelson National seem easy during a weekend round, slugging a 7-iron from 205 yards out.

Brent Bullen buried a beauty on the second hole at Willow Park. Seven-iron was the right call for a 160-yard challenge.

Kaye Currie was perfect with a pitching wedge on No. 10 at Turner Valley, which measures 122 yards.

Andrew Goetz and Vince Goegan can swap stories after both aced No. 17 at Valley Ridge, another dandy downhiller. Goetz thumped a four-hybrid from 211 yards back for a long-distance dart, while Goegan was flawless with a five-hybrid from the 175-yard blocks.

We don't have all the details, but be sure to congratulate Jordan Smith on a splendid shot on the second hole at Water Valley.

John Vicq capped a spin of the Bridges Nine at Glencoe in supreme style, finding the flagstick on the finisher with an awesome 8-iron from 130 yards away.

Also at Glencoe, Marla Cohen mastered the fifth hole on the Slopes with one crack of her 7-wood from 108 yards out, while Ray Lippitt must have been all smiles after sinking a 154-yarder with a 7-iron on No. 5 on the Forest Course.

Paul Ng had no problem with the ninth hole at Hamptons. His 8-iron will be getting the special treatment after that 136-yard pin-seeker.

Matt Carter skipped the putting portion on No. 16 at Muirfield Lakes. His recipe for success was an expert 8-iron that covered 137 yards.

Tyson Black will have fond memories of the signature 17th at Mickelson National. He aced that 184-yard jaw-dropper with a sweet 7-iron.

Hole 13 at Carnmoney proved lucky for John Blimkie, who nailed a 9-iron and then made the 160yard commute to retrieve his ball from the bottom of the cup.

Bill Iwabuchi sized up the eighth hole on the Mount Kidd Course at Kananaskis Country, selected an 8-iron and was accurate as can be from 147 yards away.

Eddie Arciniega was one-anddone on the third at Maple Ridge, dunking an 8-iron from 128 yards, while Robert Pollard carded an ace on No. 8 at the popular city-run course thanks to a superb 7-iron that travelled 118 yards.

Al Goby will be saying only good things about his 8-iron, his weapon of choice for a 151-yard memory-maker on No. 17 at Mccall Lake.

Hans Deutschmann drilled a driver on No. 17 at Silver Springs and was right on the money from 135 yards away.

Trevor Church must be a wizard with a wedge, since one swing was all he needed to complete the 116yard sixth at Lakeview.
