The Royal Foundry, Sinzere, Nice Horse, among YYC winners
For the second year in a row, Calgary country act Nice Horse was crowned Group of the Year at the YYC Music Awards.
The awards, held live for the first time in two years, were given out at a gala presentation on Sunday at the Grey Eagle Casino Event Centre.
Featuring live performances and hosted by the CBC'S Chris dela Torre, the gala included the presentation of 25 awards.
The Royal Foundry's Listen to the Beat received two awards, including Alternative Recording of the Year and Single of the Year for the title track. Calgary rapper Sinzere also received two trophies, one for Blackout as Rap Recording of the Year and one for the video for Shake the Building, directed by Emil Agopian, for Video of the Year. Fin Mcdowell was presented both the Pop Recording Artist of the Year award for Losing Game and was given the Prophets of Music Emerging Artist Award.
