Kevin Hart, Terri Clark bring tours to Calgary

-

A former Alberta country star and a Hollywood funnyman will be headlining shows in Calgary this fall as part of cross-border tours.

Terri Clark gets an early start on the holidays with her show, It's Christmas ... Cheers at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium on Nov. 29.

“Christmas has always been my favourite time of year. I released my first Christmas album in 2020, so this year is the first opportunity that I've had since then to play some of these holiday favourites live. I'm very excited to bring some Christmas Cheers and a few familiar hits to select markets in Canada this year. It's truly coming home for the holidays.”

Hailing from Medicine Hat, Clark got her start by playing for tips at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, a legendary honky-tonk bar across the alley from Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium. Now a CCMA Hall of Fame member, Clark has sold over five million albums that spawned hit singles such as Better Things To Do, Poor Poor Pitiful Me, Girls Lie Too, Northern Girl, and I Just Wanna Be Mad.

Tickets start at $49 at Ticketmaster and $2 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Calgary Children's Foundation, which raises money for small, grassroots children's charities in the Calgary area. All of the programs help support kids with either physical, mental, financial, or social challenges.

PLAYING FOR LAUGHS

Another big name just added to the slate of fall concerts is comedian Kevin Hart. He hits the Scotiabank Saddledome on Dec. 8, near the end of his long 2022 Reality Check tour.

Hart is hailed as one of the highest-earning standup comedians of 2019 by Forbes. His previous global comedy tour sold out over 100 arenas around the world, and he sold over one million tickets worldwide in 2018 during his Irresponsible Tour. Over the years, he has also become Hollywood's box office powerhouse, opening 10 films at No. 1 at the box office. His films include the Jumanji sequels, The Upside, Undeclared, Scary Movie 3, Think Like a Man, Ride Along, The Secret Life of Pets, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, Central Intelligence and Fatherhood.

In 2020, Hart released his seventh hour-long standup special, Zero F**ks Given, which earned him a Grammy nomination for Best Comedy Album. Hart also earned Emmy nominations for Die Hart, for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series, along with a nomination for his Docu-series, Don't F**k This Up.

This Calgary event will be a phone-free experience. Upon arrival at the venue, phones will be secured in individual pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their devices at all times, and can access them throughout the event only in designated Phone Use Areas within the venue.
