Calgarians look to RE/MAX to buy or sell their homes

The real estate company has been named a Gold winner for the 29th straight year in the Readers’ Choice Awards

For the 29 consecutive year, RE/MAX and its almost 1,100 real estate professionals in the Calgary area have been voted Favourite Real Estate Company in the 202324 Readers’ Choice Awards.

“It’s a validation of our business practices and how we interact with our clients,” says Doug Koop, broker/ owner at RE/MAX Realty Professionals. “Our people are really well-trained, work full-time as realtors and take selling houses seriously.”

And that trust and confidence in RE/MAX means it holds between 35 and 40 per cent of the market share in the Calgary area, which includes surrounding communities such as Airdrie, Cochrane, Strathmore, Okotoks and acreages.

“Most of our business comes from referrals — from happy clients. That means we see generations from grandparents to parents to children,” says Koop. “Families trust RE/MAX and that’s important when it involves a family’s biggest asset. It’s an honour to have that kind of trust.”

That does not mean RE/MAX rests on those laurels. It continues to invest in unrivalled industry technology including its RE/MAX Max Tech, which provides a full suite of web design and advanced agent listings to ensure home sellers have the most buyers possible looking at their property.

Koop anticipates the coming year in Calgary will be a repeat of this past one, with record-setting home sales and continued strong in-migration population growth in the province. And while home builders have ramped up construction, he expects continued windfalls for home sellers and a comparative struggle for buyers as listings are scooped up quickly when reaching the market.

For both buyers and sellers, RE/MAX offers not only experienced, competitive real estate agents, but also a higher inventory because of its large market share.

And Calgary continues to provide affordable housing, compared to other large metro centres such as Vancouver or Toronto, while being “a beautiful city, close to the mountains. I don’t see any of that changing next year.”

In a city with a large number of real estate companies, Koop says the RE/MAX brand continues to grow because of client satisfaction.

“Buying a home is a big deal. It’s certainly nothing we take lightly. And it has to be done right.”
