More than two weeks after he skipped out on a court date, Calgary-born wrestler Teddy Hart is still being sought by U.S. police.

The grandson of pro-wrestling legend Stu Hart was to appear in court last Thursday for early resolution of a case that dates to July 2023, when he was pulled over by police in Titusville, about 65 kilometres east of Orlando. According to the Brevard County Clerk of Courts, a bench warrant that allows for an arrest was issued earlier this month and his $2,000 bond was revoked.

“He has not turned himself in, nothing 's happened since Feb. 8,” said Titusville Police Department spokeswoman Amy Matthews.

That was the day Hart was to appear in court to answer to charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of MDMA — both third-degree felonies in Florida.

An arrest affidavit produced by Titusville police states Hart was pulled over in his 2022 Ford Mustang for speeding and failing to obey a red light on July 14 of last year.

The officer said he detected “an overbearing ” aroma of burned cannabis and found an unsealed medical marijuana container in the car, which also had a female passenger.

He also stated he found a ziplock bag containing a blue powder in a fanny pack, along with Hart's Canadian and U.S. passports. “The blue powder later field-tested presumptive positive for MDMA,” stated the officer, adding red pills and powder stored in an eye glasses case also tested positive for the drug, also known as ecstasy.

In early February, a probation officer in an affidavit accused Hart of failing to provide a mandatory drug test and twice attempting to falsify drug testing.

Hart, 44, whose real name is Edward Ellsworth Annis, is the nephew of pro wrestling icons Bret Hart and Owen Hart.

Matthews said authorities are serious about bringing Hart to justice. “Anyone who breaks the law is a priority to us,” she said.
