Thief weaponizes slush drink

Calgary po­lice are hop­ing to put on ice a se­rial cig­a­rette thief who hurled a slush drink in one of the heists.

Since June 14, po­lice say a man has en­tered eight Calgary con­ve­nience stores where he lunged over the counter to grab cig­a­rettes be­fore flee­ing.

“In one case, the man also threw a Slurpee at the clerk be­fore tak­ing the cig­a­rettes,” po­lice said in a state­ment.

No store em­ploy­ees were in­jured in any of the thefts. the sus­pect is de­scribed as Cau­casian, be­tween five foot eight and five foot 10, with a medium build, clean­shaven and short grey hair. He was also miss­ing teeth.
