Daniel Francis

wrote “Making Canada Dry.” His history of prohibition, Closing Time, appeared in 2014. In 2017 he was awarded the Governor General’s History Award for Popular Media: The Pierre Berton Award. His many publications include histories of whaling, transportation, the fur trade, and the sex trade. His history of Vancouver, Becoming Vancouver (Harbour Publishing), will be published this fall.
