Ship search needed
I read with interest the article on the Franklin expedition (“Solving the Franklin Mystery,” August-September 2020). Canadians may be aware of the remarkable story and eventual discovery of these two Royal Navy vessels. It struck me, on the seventy-fifth anniversary of the end of the Battle of the Atlantic, that one day a proportionate effort might be made to discover HMCS Bras D’Or, an RCN minesweeper lost with all hands and without a trace in the Gulf of St. Lawrence near Anticosti Island in October of 1940. Her crew of thirty men were all volunteers. Their ship would be their grave.
