War Amps Key Tag Service

-

The War Amps was started in 1918 by war amputee veterans returning from the First World War. They helped each other adapt to their new reality and advocated for seriously disabled veterans. They then welcomed war amputee veterans returning from the Second World War and launched the Key Tag Service. This free service offers specially coded key tags. If someone finds a set of lost keys, they can call the toll-free number on the back of the tag or place them in any mailbox in Canada, and The War Amps will return them to the owner by courier, free of charge. Donations to the Key Tag Service fund essential programs for children, veterans, and all amputees across Canada. In 2021, the Key Tag Service marks its seventy-fifth anniversary.
