A capital idea
As a former Montrealer, I found the article “Secrets of the Ruins” (OctoberNovember 2022) on the archaeological discoveries made at the site of the former Parliament, which burnt in 1849, to be most interesting. However, as also a former Kingstonian, I regret that mention was not made of the Parliament’s time in Kingston from the establishment of the United Province of Canada in 1841 until it moved to Montreal in 1844. It obviously should have stayed put! Robert A. Stairs Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry Trent University Peterborough, Ontario
