13 It’s the start of camp, Christmas Cross Camp that is. The camp is a project by Cycling Canada’s Cyclocross Working group. Since 2015, it has helped Canadian riders set up in Europe and compete in the top races during Kerstperiode.

28 On this day in 2016, pro cyclist Ellen Watters died in hospital from injuries she sustained after being struck by a vehicle five days earlier when the was out for a training ride near Sussex, N.B. The passing of Ellen’s law, a one-metre passing law, roughly six months later was the result of work by many cyclists in New Brunswick, including those of the Saint John Cycling Club (p.20).

On this day, the Waterloo, Wisc.-based company brings you the Soudal Classics race in Leuven, which was won in 2017 by Katie Compton and Mathieu van der Poel. 13-21 The Santos Tour Down Under, the first Worldtour event of the season, marks its 20th year.
