RBC GRANFONDO WHISTLER

-

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the RBC Granfondo Whistler, organizers put together something special. This year’s ride is a qualifying event for the 2020 gran fondo world championships. And where are the championship races being held in 2020? Back on the course of Granfondo Whistler. Starting in Vancouver’s Stanley Park, an estimated 4,500 riders will enjoy a dedicated lane from start to finish, crossing the Lion’s Gate Bridge to West Vancouver before heading up the Sea to Sky Highway to finish in Whistler. “We’ve been working toward the goal of hosting worlds for years,” says chief enthusiast Neil Mckinnon. “The event isn’t exclusively for elite riders. A 55-km ride starts and finishes in Whistler, and we’ve decided to allow electric-assist bikes to give broader opportunity to anyone looking to join in the fun.”
