UCI MASTERS MOUNTAIN BIKING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

-

If you’ve ever wanted to test yourself against the world’s best, this is your chance. Open to amateur riders 30 years old or older, two races will be held at the legendary MontSainte-anne resort just east of Quebec City, a venue that’s been part of the World Cup since the series’ inception. Racers will need a valid uci race licence. Twenty per cent of the masters cross country course will be the same as the elite one. On the DH side, more than half of the masters run will also see the pros ripping toward their finish line. “We want to demystify the concept of amateur racing by letting riders know they, too, can race one of the most challenging races in the world,” says Katerine Sdicu, of Gestev, the event organizer. “For North American riders, this is a rare chance to race worlds in front of a home crowd as they are most often held in Europe.” Just as in the elite races, winners will earn coveted rainbow jerseys and be crowned world champions.
