SCARECROW GRAVEL RIDE

-

There are a whole lot of events coming to the Blue Mountain area of Ontario as part of the new Sea Otter Canada festival. Like the festival’s U.S. namesake, there will be many rides at the Canadian event, including the Scarecrow Gravel Ride. “We’re excited to kick off the new Sea Otter Canada with the inaugural Scarecrow Gravel Ride event. We’ve put a lot of work into making this the highlight of the festival and can’t wait to show off the best gravel roads of the region,” says Neil Gold, national sales manager at Cannondale, the event’s title sponsor. Gold notes that the route should feel familiar to anyone who has done the Centurion gravel rides in the area. If you are keen on more racing, you can add the Canadian hill climbing championships, the crit race, the gran fondo and the one-day stage race to knock off the full Sea Otter Canada Road Stage Race. (Fee for all five road events is $430.) Also, make sure to take in the expo where there’s bike gear, food and beer – not a bad combination.
