RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
Heading into its 11th year in Calgary, the Ride to Conquer Cancer is an empowering experience to celebrate success in the fight against cancer. Throughout the past decade, thousands of riders have participated, fundraising millions and riding through the Rocky Mountains all to show that cancer can be cured.
Supporting the Alberta Cancer Foundation, funds contribute to the work done at 17 cancer research facilities in the province.
“In February 2011, just three days after the birth of my daughter, I was diagnosed with Stage iiia Hodgkin lymphoma. That day changed my life, and the life of my family’s, forever,” says Kyla Mcmullin, fourth-year participant from Calgary. “We all have our personal journeys and motivations to join the Ride, but what we all have in common is the desire to make a difference in the lives of others. I received incomparable care at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Because of the effort of others, I get to participate in this 11th edition of the Ride with the support of my husband and two lovely daughters.”
