The fourth annual Western Track Challenge takes to the boards of the Burnaby Velodrome. Riders, in under-17 to masters categories, compete in races that include sprint, keirin and snowball, a variation of a points race.

Even though 200-m-sprint world-record holder Kelsey Mitchell has been training at Mattamy National Cycling Centre and living in Milton, Ont., since summer 2018, she hasn’t yet competed in a World Cup on her home track. She plans to change that when the uci track cycling World Cup returns to Canada. Read more about Mitchell on p.6.

The uci paracyclin­g track world championsh­ips come to the Mattamy National Cycling Centre. Top Canadian athletes, such as Tristen Chernove – already a multiple world champion – Ross Wilson and Keely Shaw, will be vying for rainbow jerseys at home.
