Great Gear
With the Garmin Edge 530 Mountain Bike Bundle ($500, garmin.com), the company has addressed almost all of the criticisms that were levelled at the outgoing Edge 520. The new unit has better ergonomics, an improved screen interface and a significantly faster processor for faster navigation. Other updates include the addition of mtb-specific trails, a new My Stats area that provides essential training-specific data, Bluetooth Smart sensor support, Wi-fi connectivity and myriad secondary navigation features that would require a significantly longer review to explore. Heck, the device even tracks Grit (overall difficulty of the ride), Flow (the overall smoothness of your ride) and Jumps (the amount of air time in your ride). Seriously, the Edge 530 Mountain Bike Bundle provides and tracks almost any information a rider could want.— Gusalexandropoulos
