Three for Powering Along Gravel

Some extra torque for riding loose routes

Cannondale Topstone Neo Carbon Lefty 3

The Topstone Neo Carbon Lefty 3 debuted in May with two of Cannondale’s signature technologies. The Kingpin suspension, introduced a little more than a year ago on the analogue Topstone, and the Lefty Oliver fork combine to give you 30 mm of travel. Your ride gets a boost from the Bosch 250-W Performance Line CX drive unit powered by a 500-Wh battery. The company says the battery has a range of 176 km. A Shimano grx 812 Shadow Plus rear derailleur and grx 600 shifter move the chain across the 11-speed, 11–42 tooth cassette. The frame rolls on wtb ST i23 tcs rims with 650b x 42c wtb Resolute tires. Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon EVO

The Turbo Cred provides pedal assistance via Specialized’s own mid-drive motor, the SL 1.1. It can give you 35 Nm of torque on your long rides. Specialized says the 320-Wh battery can keep going for roughly 125 km. The bike comes with 700c wheels sporting the company’s 38-mm-wide Pathfinder Pro tires, but can run 650b wheels with 47c treads. Shimano’s gravel-focused grx 800 parts take care of braking and shifting. A suspension technology that runs on a few of Specialized’s drop-bar bikes, Future Shock 2.0, gives the Turbo Creo some travel at the top of the head tube. ($ 8,899, specialized.com/ca)

Giant Revolt E+ Pro

The Revolt E+ Pro’s motor, the Giant Syncdrive Pro, can churn out 80 Nm of torque to help you up loose inclines. A 42-tooth chainring works with the 11–42 Shimano cassette to provide you with a range of gears for a variety of terrain. A Shimano grx derailleur manages the gear changes across all 11 cogs. The 375-Wh battery can get a boost from an extra Giant Energypak. The Giant ex 2 rims come with the 700c x 45c Giant Crosscut Gravel 2 tires that carry you along gravel surfaces with speed.
