Ask for help

If new cyclists could only hear one piece of advice, getting over the fear of asking for help would probably be it. Generally, people who are enthusiastic about something love to share their passion. Cyclists who love their bikes are no different. Take it from Mitchell, whose ability to admit her mistakes is refreshing given her elite status. “Everyone was a beginner at some point,” she says. “Don’t be afraid to ask the ‘dumb’ questions, because everyone has already asked them or didn’t and found out the hard way.”
