Kate Wilson, an aquatic invasive species specialist with Alberta Environment and Parks, describes to the Edmonton Journal the size of a goldfish pulled from a Fort Mcmurray stormwater pond in 2014. The number of the fish turning up in the province this year prompted it to launch a campaign to raise public awareness about invasive aquatic species. Giant goldfish have also been found in Toronto’s waters.
