Julie Vasseur, the pro­gram direc­tor for the Na­ture Con­ser­vancy of Canada in Prince Ed­ward Is­land, ex­plains the or­ga­ni­za­tion’s re­cent ac­qui­si­tion of Hol­man Is­land, a sig­nif­i­cant habi­tat for mi­gra­tory birds. The -hectare is­land is in Bed­eque Bay, one of in­ter­na­tion­ally rec­og­nized im­por­tant bird ar­eas in the prov­ince.
