The waters offshore Nunavut support spectacular Arctic marine life. Shell’s gift of 860,000 hectares of offshore rights to the Nature Conservancy of Canada will protect an area larger than Banff National Park. Conservation of this area will protect an important piece of Canada’s natural and cultural heritage and could enable greater marine protection in the region.
