Pelagic gooseneck barnacles cling to a plastic water bottle washed up on the beach at K’yuusda, Haida Gwaii, B.C. Because of their location, the islands of Haida Gwaii are buffeted by a steady stream of plastic debris caught up in Pacific Ocean currents and pushed ashore by powerful storms.
