MEGHALAYAN
The current geological age, the start date and name for which scientists only recently settled on. The Meghalayan age began 4,200 years ago and is named after a cave in the Indian state of Meghalaya, where scientists found chemical evidence in a stalagmite that suggested multiple broad-scale climatic shifts took place during the Holocene epoch, the largerscale period of time that stretches from 11,700 BC to the present day.
