UNDER THREAT URBAN FORESTS

-

The president of Tree Canada says he believes extreme weather events such as the tornadoes that hit Ottawa and Gatineau, Que., in September pose a threat to urban forests across the country. “We have lots of these weather events going on now, enough so that it really has an effect on the urban forest,” Mike Rosen told CBC. “Our climate is changing and these storms are getting more and more common, and more and more violent.”
