An east­bound street­car flies through the in­ter­sec­tion of King Street West and York Street in down­town Toronto. The city has re­lied on street­cars since 1861, when horses pulled the first fleet up the street rail­way sys­tem, but the ear­li­est in­car­na­tion of the fa­mil­iar “Red Rocket” hit the tracks in 1938.
