The interim House of Commons, shortly before it officially opened on Jan. 28, 2019. The new chamber, which is housed in what was once a courtyard in Parliament’s West Block while Centre Block undergoes a decade-long renovation, has a glass-andaluminum ceiling and required more than 1.4 million new bricks to help reinforce the entire structure.
