An arbutus tree is silhouetted by the moon in mid-july at Cape Roger Curtis on Bowen Island in British Columbia’s Howe Sound. The arbutus tree is Canada’s only native broadleaf-evergreen, and prefers rocky sunlit areas along the western coast of North America close to the pounding waves of the Pacific.
