Childhood dreams come to life in this winter wonderland on the Arctic Circle, where Santa and Mrs. Claus summer with their favourite elves and 190,000 reindeer roam free. My seven-year-old daughter, Maddie, was equally enamoured with meeting the “celebrity couple,” dogsledding, watching the northern lights dance across the sky and playing in the snow. My highlight was seeing how happy she was.

From November to May, the region is covered in about a metre of snow… and Maddie couldn’t get enough of it. She didn’t ever seem to get cold!
