ingredient of the month PERSIMMONS
Small and sweet, this “fruit of the gods” is as versatile as it is beautiful. The name comes from the Algonquin word “putchamin.” Packed with fibre and vitamin A, this tomato-shaped fruit is best enjoyed as is at room temperature or as part of a cold dish. The Fuyu persimmon (below) is available in fall and winter months and turns vibrant orange when ripe.
