Sparks fly
Canadian Living publisher Jacqueline Howe recently shared some great news with me: The results of a Brandspark International consumer-voted survey has found that Canadian Living is the most trusted magazine brand among Canadian shoppers. What a delight for our team to receive this acclaim from our beloved readers! Besides taste-testing recipes from the Test Kitchen, one of the best parts of our jobs is dreaming up and executing the editorial content we can only hope will be compelling for you to read at home. And then to learn that it’s a hit—what better reason to keep creating more exciting stories?!
Case in point: This issue offers a vibrant mix of inspiration, advice and recipes. You’ll find springtime makeup cues (“Rosy Outlook,” page 21) and colourful fashion (“Colour Me Happy,” page 32). See the most delicious way to plan a visit to Montreal (“Montreal à la Carte,” page 50), then discover why you should take a sabbatical from work (“A Gap Year,” page 52)—and how to do it. “Harness Your Hormones” (page 64) offers feel-good fixes for common hormone-related symptoms. For meal inspiration, turn to our updated traditional Easter dinner (“Easter Is Served,” page 86) and satisfying wholesome salads (“Best Dressed,” page 94). Plus, check out fresh holiday decorating ideas for your dining room (“Spring Forward,” page 74).
Whether you’re flipping through Canadian Living for the first time or you’ve been with us since our inaugural issue, I want to extend a huge thank-you for reading this magazine, engaging with us and inspiring me and my team to keep on doing what we love to do!
