Wax and sugar hair removal

-

What is it? There are two different types of waxing: hard wax, which is removed by hand, and soft wax, which is pulled off with strips of fabric. This type of hair removal can be done at home, but it is recommended to go see a professional for optimal results. Sugaring, another popular option for facial hair, is usually a mixture of sugar, water and lemon. It’s applied in the direction of the hair growth, unlike waxing, which works by pulling in the opposite direction. The advantage of sugaring is that it causes less irritation to sensitive skin. On the other hand, this method is more expensive and it’s hard to find athome sugaring kits. While waxing with wax or sugar can eventually slow hair regrowth on the body, for facial hair that is related to hormone imbalances, this is not necessarily the case.

Does it hurt? You feel a slight pinch, but the sensation disappears quickly. Because hair removal can cause redness or irritation on the treated area, a soothing gel is usually applied afterward.
