WATERLOO ENDURUN

ONT. Aug. 12–19, 2018

-

When you cross the finish line of the last of seven events (it starts with a half-marathon and finishes with a marathon), you are so proud of yourself and every other runner. Everyone is so supportive of one another throughout this week-long stage race. You walk away with friendships that will last a lifetime. I grew as a person, having gained more confidence in myself to embrace challenges and approach them with excitement. It taught me how important it is to be positive and to take things in stride, which is a mindset I have implemented in all aspects of my life.

The races are challenging, always on country roads around Waterloo, Ont. There are so many moments that I still look back on, when the message is about perseverance. I recommend this race because it’s a lifechanging experience. The volunteers are amazing; they can’t do enough for you. The race director invites you to his pool after, and all of the postrace food is homemade – you feel like you’re at a family barbeque.

It has become an annual tradition for me. The area you’re running in is beautiful – country roads, big trees and fields as far as the eye can see, homemade food, fellow runners and incredible organizing.— Victoria Siemeon, 2017 finisher, Toronto
