Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes



1 ½ lb. lean ground beef or bison ½ medium onion, diced 1 medium red bell pepper, cored, seeded and diced 1 x 15-oz. can tomato sauce ½ cup ketchup 2 tbsp brown sugar, packed 1 tsp Worcesters­hire sauce 1 tsp dry ground mustard ½ tsp garlic powder ½ tsp kosher salt N tsp ground black pepper 6 hamburger buns (for serving)


1 Prepare all the ingredient­s (dice the pepper and onion, measure all the ingredient­s etc.) and place them into a 4-quart slow cooker. 2 Mix thoroughly so all of the ingredient­s are well combined. 3 Cover and cook; 2–3 hours on high, or 6–8 hours on low. 4 Once cooked, halve the buns and divide the meat mixture between all six buns. 5 Serve immediatel­y. NOTE: freezes well, or can refrigerat­ed in an airtight container for up to four days.
